Overnight Parking Regulated
It shall be unlawful for anyone to park or be permitted to park any vehicle between the hours of 3:00 am and 6:00 am on any street within the City of St. Francis, without the proper parking permit to be issued to any St. Francis resident for a fee. The permit shall be displayed as directed by the St. Francis Police Department. On Saturday (Friday night into Saturday morning) or Sunday (Saturday night into Sunday morning), no permit shall be required, but alternate parking described below shall apply.

Parking Permit Fees
  • Monthly fee - $12
  • Seven day fee - $6

Consecutive Days
One night emergency parking is available. The Police Department is authorized to permit overnight parking for one night periods, not exceeding three consecutive nights without a fee. However, the requesting party shall call each night for permission. Citizens are only allowed three parking permissions a month.

Alternate Parking
Vehicles shall be parked on the even numbered side on the street on those nights bearing an even calendar date during the portion thereof before midnight and on the odd calendar date during the portion thereof before midnight. However, alternate parking shall not be enforced on those streets where other parking restrictions or other matters prevent such alternate parking.

Snow Emergencies
Overnight parking permits are, at all times, subject to other St. Francis Ordinances governing parking, including emergency situations. This also includes snow emergencies. Vehicles parked in compliance with above parking regulations, during the snow emergency, shall be moved from said side of the street by the following 9:00 am to permit snow removal or plowing in the area when such parking occurred.

For streets that lie on the boundary between the City of Milwaukee and the City of St. Francis, all night parking permits issued by the City of Milwaukee shall become valid in the City of St. Francis to the same extent as if such permit had been issued by the City of St. Francis, provided, however, that the provisions of this paragraph shall be effective only during such time as the City of Milwaukee authorizes, by ordinance, a reciprocal privilege on such streets for all night parking permits issued by the City of St. Francis.

Penalty
Any person who shall violate any provision of the parking regulations listed, shall, upon conviction thereof, pay a forfeiture of not more than $30. Failure to pay the parking fine will result in suspension of your registration plates and an increase in the fine including costs and fees to $45.

These regulations apply only to parking overnight in the City of St. Francis. Fines may be paid in person at the St. Francis City Hall or mailed using check or money order, payable to the City of St. Francis 4235 S. Nicholson Ave.,St. Francis, WI 53235.

Proper Placement of Overnight Parking Permits
  • Two door vehicle: Permits are to be displayed in the upper right corner of the driver's side window.
  • Four door vehicle: Permits are to be displayed in the upper right corner of the driver's side passenger window.

Failure to properly display monthly permits may result in your vehicle receiving a parking citation. It will be necessary to appear in court to contest the citation if this does occur. Permits from previous months should be removed from windows.
